The work team collected and synthesized objective information (on slopes, soils, drainage, traffic, etc.) and built from Anchorage 2020 and public opinion to prepare and evaluate land use alternatives. The Land Use analysis specifically addressed questions such as: How to maintain Hillside character while accommodating growth targeted by Anchorage 2020? How to integrate plans for public services, such as parks, open space, schools and fire?
